Moleskine.

I'm practically finished with my old sketchbook of 3 years. It's been through some tough times with me. From people accidentally sitting on it and destroying the spine, to sketches drawn by candle-light during blackouts- it's been there with me.

I decided yesterday that it was time to buy a new sketchbook and I had my mind on a Moleskine for a while. So, that's exactly what I did. I drove over to Barnes & Noble and picked up a dainty standard sized one. You know you're an artist when you're in awe over how high the quality of paper is.

Anyway, the moment I got home, I broke out the art supplies and got straight to work with some watercolors.

(On a side note, I bought tickets to The Legend of Zelda Symphony in NYC this coming November! That being said, some fanart celebrating this event was obligatory. I'm so excited I could weep.)

My goal with this is since I'm not so familiar with watercolors, I'm going to do as many watercolor drawings as I can. Also I'm going to try and paint something everyday in my new found Moleskine.

I should name it....

  3. I agree! There's this sense of prestige I get when I work in mine, haha. I've been obsessively working in mine since yesterday, and all I can think about is when I'm going to come up with another idea to paint. I have a good feeling I'm going to breeze through this one.

And why thank you! It means a lot.
