Pre-college: Day 1

Today was my first official day of class at Pratt! I've completed moving in and decorating my dorm, along with my wonderful roomie who's from Colorado.

My first class in the morning (M/W/Th) is my Foundations class. It's 4 hours long (8:30-12:30).
Today being the first day of class, was slow. We went over some basic geometric shapes and drew on newsprint based on it. Also...I have both my morning and afternoon classes in the same building. This building has no A/C or elevators, and my classes are on the 3rd and 4th floor. It's torture.

My afternoon class (M/W/Th) is my Painting/Drawing class. I absolutely love my professor! He's crass, opinionated, and calls himself a "Color Whore." His name is Kay Carbone, and he's mainly an abstract painter. Funny thing is, his father was the Herricks High School Chairman for 38 years! His father hired Mr. Ganes! Small world, eh?

Overall, this program is kind of stressful. There's a lot of work involved and the day feels like it's gone before you even know it. However, it's definitely rewarding and worth while. People from all over the world are here (I've met people from the Dominican Republic, India, France, etc.), and the campus is always gorgeous and beautiful.

So far, I'm loving it. I could get used to this.
